The Baria of India

The Baria of India, numbering approximately 924,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Gujarati-speaking Hindu agricultural community of Gujarat and Daman and Diu who claim descent from Koli migrants from Saurashtra. They are also known as Baria Patel, organized into clans, and work in farming and masonry. They are an Indigenous people in the Gujarati people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Gujarati and their primary religion is Hinduism.
