The Halwakki Wakkal of India

The Halwakki Wakkal of India, numbering approximately 343,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a caste community of Uttar Kannad district in Karnataka, whose name combines the Kannada words for milk and rice reflecting their agricultural origins. The Halwakki Wakkal were traditionally rice cultivators and animal herders. They are an Indigenous people in the Kanarese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Kannada and their primary religion is Hinduism.
