The Nanjil Mudali of India, numbering approximately 700 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a community that emerged in the 1970s from barbers serving the Nadar of Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu, formed to elevate their social status. Barbering and petty business remain common. They are an Indigenous people in the Tamil people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Tamil and their primary religion is Hinduism.
