They are a community of Puducherry, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu also called Nattaman, claiming descent from a Chera king. They are an Indigenous people in the Tamil people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Tamil and their primary religion is Hinduism.
