The Kannada Naicker of India

The Kannada Naicker of India, numbering approximately 3,300 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Kannada-speaking migrant caste of Coimbatore, Nilgiris, and Salem districts in Tamil Nadu, descended from military servicemen of the Vijayanagara empire. Agriculture remains their main occupation, and they are mostly Lingayat. They are an Indigenous people in the Kanarese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Kannada and their primary religion is Hinduism.
