The Pomla of India

The Pomla of India, numbering approximately 1,300 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Scheduled Tribe of Gujarat also called Topliwala, who migrated from Madhya Pradesh five or six generations ago, traditionally makers of leaf baskets. Trade and commerce have largely replaced basket-making. They are an Indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Gujarati and their primary religion is Hinduism.
