They are a small ethnic subgroup of the larger Yi community of southwestern China and northern Vietnam. and can also be known as Qabiao. They are an Indigenous people, in the Tai people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion. They primarily speak Chinese, Mandarin.
