The Bowis Mogeyar of India, numbering approximately 101,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached.
They are described as a Hindu fishing community of Kerala within the Dheevara fold, traditionally engaged in marine fishing and once serving as palanquin-bearers. They speak a dialect blending Malayalam and Kannada and worship the goddess Bhagavathi`.
They are an Indigenous people in the Malayali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Malayalam is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.
