The Kattiakaran of India

The Kattiakaran of India, numbering approximately 113,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached.
They are described as a Tamil-speaking community of Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli districts claiming descent from bodyguards of the Travancore kings, their name meaning knife-bearers. Once smelters of iron and steel, most are now agricultural laborers.
They are an Indigenous people in the Tamil people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Tamil is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.
