The Kavuthiyan of India

The Kavuthiyan of India, numbering approximately 31,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached.
They are described as an occupational caste of barbers in Kerala and Tamil Nadu who speak Malayalam and Tamil respectively. The Kavuthiyan traditionally serve the Tiyan and other communities, with women historically working as midwives.
They are an Indigenous people in the Malayali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Malayalam is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.
