The Dimasa of India

The Dimasa of India, numbering approximately 132,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached.
They are described as a Scheduled Tribe of the North Cachar Hills and Karbi Anglong districts in Assam, whose name means sons of the great river. Slash-and-burn cultivation remains their traditional occupation, alongside Hinduism and an older tribal faith.
They are an Indigenous people in the Other Tibeto-Burmese people cluster of the Tibetan Peoples affinity bloc.
Kachari is their primary language and Folk Hinduism is their primary religion.
