They are an Indigenous people, with Saamia as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Bantu, Central-Lakes people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African.
Their primary religion is Christianity - Neo-Pentecostalism.
They primarily speak Saamya-Gwe.
