They are described as a Hmong-Mien ethnolinguistic group indigenous to southwest China and adjacent border areas of Laos and Thailand and can also be known as Green Hmong, Tak Miao, Blue Hmong, Black Hmong.
They are an Indigenous people, with Miao / Hmong as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Miao / Hmong people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples.
Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion - Chinese Folk Religion.
They primarily speak Hmong Njua.
