They are described as an indigenous tribe of the hills east of the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu.
They are an Diaspora people in the Tibetan people cluster of the Tibetan Peoples affinity bloc.
Thangmi is their primary language and Ethnoreligion is their primary religion.
