They are an Indigenous people, with Naisu as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Other Tibeto-Burmese people cluster of the Tibetan / Himalayan Peoples.
Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion - Chinese Folk Religion.
They primarily speak Yi, Wuding-Luquan.
