They are described as an ethnic group of mixed Hassani Arab and Sanhaji Amazigh descent indigenous to the western part of the Sahara Dessert .
They are an Indigenous people, with Saharawi as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Arab, Hassaniya people cluster of the Arab World.
Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni.
They primarily speak Hassaniyya.
