The Akha Pala of Laos

The Akha Pala of Laos, numbering approximately 6,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached.
They are described as one of numerous Akha hill tribes that migrated from China into Southeast Asia during the early 20th century to settle in the mountains of northern Laos and can also be known as Palar.
They are an Indigenous people, with Akha as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Hani-Akha people cluster of the Himalayan Peoples.
Their primary religion is Animism.
They primarily speak Akha.

The Akha Pala are Unengaged and Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations among which there are no known efforts focused on establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

The Akha Pala are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

No longer Unreached

The Akha Pala are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
