The Tondman of India

The Tondman of India, numbering approximately 559,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached.
They are described as a Tamil Nadu community of Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, and Madurai districts, a branch of the Kallar traditionally serving as drummers, pipers, and lime-burners. Agriculture, business, and service are now common occupations.
They are an Indigenous people in the Tamil people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Tamil is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.

The Tondman are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

The Tondman are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
