The Ontaris of India

They are described as a section of the Kapu community in Andhra Pradesh's Godavari agency tracts, honored with their title for bravery under Sri Krishna Devaraya's sixteenth-century army. Landowning agriculture remains their primary livelihood.
They are an Indigenous people in the Telugu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Telugu is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.
