The Wandharo of India

The Wandharo of India, numbering approximately 1,900 people, are Unengaged and Unreached.
They are described as a community of Saurashtra, Gujarat, their name recalling their traditional craft of designing sword handles for maharajas of past centuries. Sharpening knives and petty business now support most families among this landless community.
They are an Indigenous people in the Gujarati people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Gujarati is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.

The Wandharo are Unengaged and Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations among which there are no known efforts focused on establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

Unreached yet Engaged

The Wandharo are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

No longer Unreached

The Wandharo are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
