The Barodiya of India

The Barodiya of India, numbering approximately 22,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached.
They are described as a Scheduled Tribe community, also known as Barud, who migrated from Maharashtra to Gujarat some 250 years ago and settled mainly in Surat district. They are traditionally bamboo workers organized into clans whose names serve as surnames.
They are an Indigenous people in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Marathi is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.
