The Tenugu of India

The Tenugu of India, numbering approximately 47,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached.
They are described as a Telugu-speaking community of Nanded, Parbhani, and Solapur districts, Maharashtra, also called Muttarasa Koli, traditionally fishermen. Agriculture, carpentry, masonry, and labor have largely replaced this traditional trade.
They are an Indigenous people in the Telugu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Telugu is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.

The Tenugu are Unengaged and Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations among which there are no known efforts focused on establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

The Tenugu are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

The Tenugu are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
