They are described as a Rajput landowning community of western Uttar Pradesh who trace their mythical origin to Lav, a son of Lord Ram. They are traditionally settled cultivators, worship Ram and Shiva, and are organized into exogamous clans and can also be known as [no data].
They are an Indigenous people, with Rajput as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Rajput people cluster of the South Asian Peoples.
Their primary religion is Hinduism.
