The Barad of India

The Barad of India, numbering approximately 6,700 people, are Engaged yet Unreached.
They are described as a Scheduled Caste artisan community of Himachal Pradesh, traditionally landless makers of winnowing fans and reed-grass mats who also work as daily-wage laborers. They are also known as Barar, Burar or Berar, with clans resembling Rajput clan names.
They are an Indigenous people in the Nepali-Pahari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Bilaspuri is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.

The Barad are Unengaged and Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations among which there are no known efforts focused on establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

Unreached yet Engaged

The Barad are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

No longer Unreached

The Barad are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
