The Narsanna of India

The Narsanna of India, numbering approximately 700 people, are Unengaged and Unreached.
They are described as a community of Kasaragod, Kerala, also called Pursanna, identified by a distinctive turban and long hair tied at the back. Bidi-rolling and wage labor have replaced mat-weaving and fortune-telling as their main occupations.
They are an Indigenous people in the Other South Asian people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Marathi is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.

The Narsanna are Unengaged and Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations among which there are no known efforts focused on establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

The Narsanna are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

The Narsanna are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
