The Karmakar of India

The Karmakar of India, numbering approximately 32,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached.
They are described as a metalworking community of Tripura and Assam, originally from East Bengal, whose name means skilled worker. Blacksmithy and goldsmithy remain their traditional occupations, and they worship Vishwakarma as their patron deity.
They are an Indigenous people in the Bihari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Bengali is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.
