The Lois of India

The Lois of India, numbering approximately 76,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached.
They are described as a Scheduled Caste of Manipur historically banished from Meitei society for violating kinship norms, speaking the Meitei dialect Chakpa. Cultivation, liquor distilling, and sericulture remain their occupations.
They are an Indigenous people in the Manipuri people cluster of the Himalayan Peoples affinity bloc.
Meitei is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.
