The Baig of India

The Baig of India, numbering approximately 27,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached.
They are described as an Urdu-speaking Sunni Muslim community of Tamil Nadu who identify themselves as Mughal in origin. Traditionally endogamous and largely landless, most Baig earn their living through petty business.
They are an Indigenous people in the Urdu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Urdu is their primary language and Sunni Islam is their primary religion.

The Baig are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
