The Gachha of India

The Gachha of India, numbering approximately 37,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached.
They are described as a Madhya Pradesh community of Jhabua district also known as Basor, traditionally basket-makers who took up sweeping and scavenging generations ago after an epidemic decimated the local Bhangi community.
They are an Indigenous people in the Hindi people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Hindi is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.

The Gachha are Unengaged and Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations among which there are no known efforts focused on establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

The Gachha are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

No longer Unreached

The Gachha are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
