The Saur of India

The Saur of India, numbering approximately 199,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached.
They are described as a Scheduled Tribe of Tikamgarh, Panna, Satna, and Chhatarpur districts, Madhya Pradesh, traditionally collectors and sellers of firewood from nearby forests. Agricultural labor now supplements this declining traditional occupation.
They are an Indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Hindi is their primary language and Folk Hinduism is their primary religion.

The Saur are Unengaged and Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations among which there are no known efforts focused on establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

Unreached yet Engaged

The Saur are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

No longer Unreached

The Saur are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
