They are described as a Tibeto-Burman ethnic group indigenous to the Transhimalayan region that separates India and Nepal from Tibet and can also be known as Bhotia, Dukpa, Denjonka, Kagatay, Yolmo, Tibetan, Danjonka, Sherpa, Toto.
They are an Indigenous people, with Bhotia as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Tibetan people cluster of the Tibetan / Himalayan Peoples.
Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion.
They primarily speak Sherpa.
