They are described as a community of India and can also be known as Munewad, Dakhani Muslims, Mawalud, Daccani Muslims, Manewad.
They are an Indigenous people, with Dakkani as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Urdu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples.
Their primary religion is Islam - Sunni.
They primarily speak Urdu.
