The Sayyid of India

The Sayyid of India, numbering approximately 8,235,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached.
They are described as a hereditary social community within the Muslim population. Many Sayyids speak local languages such as Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kashmiri, or Sindhi and are integrated into the regional cultures where they live.
They are an Indigenous people in the Sayyid people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Urdu is their primary language and Shia Islam is their primary religion.

The Sayyid are Unengaged and Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations among which there are no known efforts focused on establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

Unreached yet Engaged

The Sayyid are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

No longer Unreached

The Sayyid are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
