The Telaga of India

The Telaga of India, numbering approximately 10,020,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached.
They are described as a Telugu‑speaking agrarian and warrior community of Andhra Pradesh, best understood as a sub‑group of the Kapu caste cluster. In practice, the terms Kapu, Telaga, and (in some areas) Ontari are closely related and often used interchangeably.
They are an Indigenous people in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc.
Telugu is their primary language and Hinduism is their primary religion.

Unengaged and Unreached

The Telaga are Unengaged and Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations among which there are no known efforts focused on establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

Unreached yet Engaged

The Telaga are Engaged yet Unreached, which means there are less than 2% evangelical Christian populations but there are sustained efforts at establishing self-sustaining churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice.

No longer Unreached

The Telaga are No Longer Unreached, which means there are more than 2% evangelical Christian populations and there are churches consistent with evangelical faith and practice. There is still more to be done among them.
