They are described as an Indo-Iranian ethnolinguistic community of western Iran.
They are an Diaspora people in the Luri-Bakhtiari people cluster of the Persian-Median Peoples affinity bloc.
Luri, Northern is their primary language and Shia Islam is their primary religion.
