They are described as a small, officially recognized subgroup of the Yao nationality in southern China. They are one of several cases where linguistic and cultural reality does not neatly match China’s formal ethnic labels and can also be known as [no data].
They are an Indigenous people, with Beidalao as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Yao-Mien people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples.
Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion.
They primarily speak Pa-Hng.
