The Natua of India

The Natua of India, numbering approximately 59,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are an occupational caste of Karnataka, drawn from the Kaikolan and Banajiga communities, speaking Telugu or Tamil and Kannada and using the Kannada script. The Natua traditionally serve as male dance teachers to devadasi girls in temples. They are an Indigenous people in the Telugu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Telugu and their primary religion is Hinduism.
