The Lahangir of India

The Lahangir of India, numbering approximately 1,800 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a community of Madhya Pradesh named for lahangas (petticoats) they once made, though many now identify as Kori. Wage labor, masonry, business, and government service have replaced their traditional craft. They are an Indigenous people in the Hindi people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Bundeli and their primary religion is Hinduism.
