The Kunnuva Vellalar of India

The Kunnuva Vellalar of India, numbering approximately 19,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a cultivating community of the Palani hills in Tamil Nadu, also called Mannadiyar. The Kunnuvar trace migration from Kunnur in Coimbatore centuries ago. Agriculture remains their occupation, and Murugan is their principal deity. They are an Indigenous people in the Tamil people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Tamil and their primary religion is Hinduism.
