They are a historically nomadic Hindu community found across north and central India, today known for their artisan and itinerant occupational traditions and for long‑standing social marginalization. They are an Indigenous people, in the Rajasthani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Marwari (India).
