The Moothan of India, numbering approximately 4,800 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Hindu Vaishya (trading) caste traditionally associate with business and commerce. The Moothan migrated from Tamil Nadu centuries ago. They are an Indigenous people, in the Malayali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Malayalam.
