The Bamcha of India

The Bamcha of India, numbering approximately 5,700 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as a Scheduled Tribe community of Gujarat, organized into clans and following the Shakti tradition of Hinduism. They once served as soldiers of the princely state of Baroda and today work mostly as agricultural laborers They are an Indigenous people, with Bavcha (Bamcha) as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Gujarati.
