The Halleer of India, numbering approximately 7,400 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as a Scheduled Caste community of Uttar Kannad district in Karnataka and parts of Maharashtra, traditionally musicians and hunter-gatherers, now also agricultural laborers and cultivators They are an Indigenous people, with Haleer / Halleer as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Kanarese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Marathi.
