The Agaria of India

The Agaria of India, numbering approximately 25,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as an endogamous Sunni Muslim landholding community of the Kachchh district in Gujarat whose name derives from Agra, from where they trace their conversion to Islam by a pir before migrating westward. They speak Kachchi at home They are an Indigenous people, with Agariya / Agaria as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Munda-Santal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam. They primarily speak Kacchi.
