The Campa of India

The Campa of India, numbering approximately 7,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as a scheduled tribe of Buddhist herders inhabiting the high-altitude cold deserts between Ladakh and Tibet, traditionally living by raising yaks and goats. Their name may derive from chang, their traditional drink They are an Indigenous people, with Champa / Changpa (tribe) as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Tibetan people cluster of the Tibetan Peoples. Their primary religion is Tibetan Buddhism. They primarily speak Ladakhi.
