The Barad of India, numbering approximately 6,700 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are described as a Scheduled Caste artisan community of Himachal Pradesh, traditionally landless makers of winnowing fans and reed-grass mats who also work as daily-wage laborers. They are also known as Barar, Burar or Berar, with clans resembling Rajput clan names They are an Indigenous people, with Barad as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Nepali-Pahari people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Bilaspuri.
