The Sonar of Nepal

The Sonar of Nepal, numbering approximately 247,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an indigenous community of Nepal and can also be known as Jargar, Saraf, Potdar, Suniyara, Sunar, Konkar, Swarankar, Sanur, Tank, Soni, Suniar, Verma, Zargar, Maipotra, Hemkar, Sunar, Merhbansi Sonar, Suvarnakar, Jarg, Sawrnakar, Kapila. They are an Indigenous people, in the Sonar people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Nepali.
