They are a Tibetan-origin people inhabiting the Kargil district of Ladakh, concentrated in the Suru Valley, Kargil town, and surrounding blocks. Purigpa, Purik They are an Indigenous people, in the Tibetan people cluster of the Tibetan Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary religion is Islam - Shia. They primarily speak Purig.
