The Mundapotta of India

The Mundapotta of India, numbering approximately 1,600 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste of Odisha, also called Anadari, whose mendicant ancestors buried their heads in sand to draw pilgrims' sympathy at Puri. Alms-seeking and acrobatics remain traditional, supplemented by wage labor. They are an Indigenous people in the Telugu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples affinity bloc. Their primary language is Telugu and their primary religion is Hinduism.
