The Bilaspuri of India, numbering approximately 1,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are described as a Hindu community of Assam whose name derives from their origin in the Bilaspur district of present-day Chhattisgarh. Many were formerly tea-garden laborers, and today they practice agriculture and follow the Sakta tradition of Hinduism They are an Indigenous people, with Bilaspuri as their ethnic/kinship group and are in the Punjabi people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism. They primarily speak Bilaspuri.
